The only image that came to me with clarity, was cloud watching on a summer day, finding shapes in the clouds and then daydreaming with the thoughts that came with the imagined shapes.
The background was done using a technique developed by Anna Faustino and detailed in her book, Simply Stunning Woven Quilts. I started with two log cabin blocks with the square in the upper right corner. The blocks were then cut into strips between the seams, one vertically and one horizontally, and then woven together. I cross hatch quilted the woven square using a serpentine stitch and variegated thread. The black design and the clouds are then fused on top of the background square.
This quilt is gallery wrapped around a 12 inch x 12 inch x ¾ inch wooded frame.
